I started learning Bharathanatyam when I was 7 years old. As a child Dance was very tough for me.Learning the steps was difficult but Lavanyaa Aunty helped me in making me the dancer that I am today. She encouraged me in the sections that I was good at and was patient when I was unable to do it. Bharathanatyam is not just something that my parents put me in or an activity to burn calories. It is a way that I can connect to the divine and let go of everything else. When feeling stressed or worried dancing helps me immensely. Lavanyaa Aunty was the one who instilled the divine art form in me. For 7 years I have been learning from her and every class brings something new. I am incredibly blessed to have her as my Guru

Mrs.Lavanyaa Surendar has been a great guru for my 7 year old daughter who is very playful. She makes learning, a fun experience. Am amazed to see the change in my daughter from being a playful student to a dedicated learner during her dance lessons. She constantly encourages him to share his thoughts on what he has learnt from his previous lessons and where do he think he needs to improve. I feel this gets her engaged in his lessons and makes her learn faster. Though she has a standard curriculum for kids and follows it, she goes out of the way to teach them short songs.
